Strawberries by Edwin Morgan

--

I chose to do a poem for this assignment because I felt like it would just be a nice refresher for me. I don’t think I have looked at or read a poem since high school so I was kinda drawn to it. I had a hard time choosing the topic of a poem but I ended up aiming for a happier poem. I chose Strawberries by Edwin Morgan. This poem embarked on the simple-happiness you find when you are young. The memories of me sitting on a stone wall eating fruit from my grandparents garden kinda just hit me in the face while reading this. Simple happiness to me is more of a contentness with each given moment in time. I feel like this art has been washed away as the generations unfold. I look at this cloud art image and realize that nothing is super special about it. A few words pop more than others, but I figure it embarks on the message of the poem. Simple and peaceful (like a butterfly).
